My brother just bought a 351 Windsor and has a 427 stroker kit on the way for his 94 thunder-bird. After that the magnacharger is going on it. What i need to know it what would be a good setup to go with turbo and a lt1. The 1st thing i was going to do was upgrade the fuel system to add some hp. I was thinking 383 or 396. What do you suggest. I would be putting this in my 97 trans am. Or should i just start out with a ls1. I love the lt1 though. But from what i heard the ls1 responds better to mods.

I guess the big questions are how much are you willing to spend and what do you want from the car? All drag, street/strip, road race, etc. Any forced induction is going to expensive.

street/strip yeah i know the turbo is going to be expensive. so that will be last. I dont want to spend too much right now since i am getting ready to purchase a house. just enough to make sure i will be on top

id build a nitrous'd 396. but thats just me.
my buddies got a stock shortblock 351 windsor in his mustang that makes 448rwhp on motor. its carbureted and has a good set of TFS heads and a solid roller. he spins it to 6800. the car weighs about 3200 w/ driver. it runs 6.70s@100 in the 1/8 w/ high 1.4 60' times. the thing hauls ass. i was trying to buy it yesterday.

I like my LT1. After seeing what parts cost for my friends LS1's I wouldn't have one!

yeah, LS1 parts arent cheap. my buddy pulled the cam out of a 70K mile LS1 that had been babied its whole life and the oil changed every 3K. the d@mn cam bearings were showing copper. WTF is up with that? weve got 250K mile 302s in mustangs that dont show copper on the bearings.

Yeah, I love LS1s, but it seems alot of people I know around here have been blowing there LS1s up pretty easily lately. All oil related problems.
