Sorry, but I can't have threads of that nature on the forum.
I can think of many of reasons why we shouldn't have it here, and no reasons why we should. That being the case, I'll have to ask that we don't post any pictures here with women who are barely dressed, or who are being reveling.

I understand you views on the subject. And don't blame you if you don't want that on here.
However, there is also another option you can consider if you want, or not. Most of the car message boards that I visit have some sort of section that allows pics like that (or worse). The way they do it is they make a section that can only be viewed by the people that ask permission to have access to that section of the board. If you don't have access you can't even tell it's there. Or you can make it where people can tell it's there but they can't access it unless they ask for their name to be put on the list for access.
Many boards that are mostly based in one area also have a street racing section that works the same way. You don't get access unless they know who you are, and if you don't have access you can't tell it's there.
Just an another option to think about.

a very good point...
on EFA we have a over 18 section...
on ls1lt1 we have several hiden sections that require secondary membership
racers den ... fbodyhideout....
ect ect ect...

It is inappropriate for this site where we are trying to build a reputation as a quality forum where enthusiasts can come for information, advise, interaction, swap lies and actual experiences, etc. If anyone wants to share this kind of adult entertainment, that is what email and PMs are for. Many of us monitor this site from work and in our own living rooms where our wives and kids are present. We do not want to offend or discourage anyone from visiting this site any time, night or day, because there is inappropriate content on display here. We are not flaming or judging anyone, we simply wish to make the site appeal to as many people as possible. I am sure you all understand and I hope we can count on your support in helping us promote a top-notch board where everyone is welcome and no one is alienated. Thanks again for your understanding and support. |

uh.... isnt all the(i do this from work, or my kids are in the room) usually bypassed by a simple NWS add on to the title so you dont open it when you should not...
i mean look its your guys site, you rules , but dont give excuses that sound like that are comming from a polotician....
LS1tech is probab;y the single most respected site on the net for info on LSX based cars. but as stated before, they also have post like this, hell they even put out a calander.
If these are rules dictated to you from higher then our Site admin. (as sudjested to me in pm) then that is fine ... just dont say things that make it sound like we, as car enthusiest, should be ABOVE this... I have yet to walk into a REAL garage, that does not have a scantily clad chick on a calinder, or poster of some kind... (inculing mine...)

To avoid having to open every thread and scroll through all the posts to see what we may have missed, some of us use the "view 40 most recent posts" feature. It makes it much easier to get caught up. This will also display any content in those threads. I have been going to ls1tech for 3 years and I have never seen anything like what was being posted here, which is beside the point; this is not ls1tech. Some of us are a little above that kind of sophomoric behavior. Someday when your little girl is a little older, you may change your tune. I hope by then you have a $70k+ a year job you might not want to risk because some 20-odd year old adolescents can't rise above their hormone level. Grow up and get over it. If your idea of a "real" garage is one that is wall papered with soft porn, then you don't even know what reality is, and I not only question your maturity, but your morality and fitness to be the kind of father your daughter deserves. Instead of complaining because we won't let you post and view soft porn, you should be supportive of the fact that we are trying to create a site that is a cut above the rest and not willing to compromise our goals and values for something that will only serve to make this site mediocre at best. I for one deal with a lot of well-to-do middle-class adults on a daily basis and I want to feel comfortable referring them to this site. I never want anyone to say to themselves or others that Tom told me to check out the site where he is a moderator and there was just a bunch of girlie pictures and useless posts; nothing of any real value. I want to be able to refer anyone I know, as well as total strangers, to this site with no reservations as to what they will find and how they will feel about it. We want viewers of this site to find it to be professionally managed and moderated, to have interesting and informative content, and to be somewhat humorous and entertaining. Not all of the viewers will be in their teens and twenties, many will be older with good jobs, wives, and kids that may inadvertantly be viewing, and it is just simply not acceptable to have the kind of content we are discussing. Again, not making excuses, just stating real concerns that you obviously cannot conceive of as being real. Enough said. You know where we stand; deal with it. |

My point was not to insult you or anyone else, but rather to drive home the fact that the kind of behavior we are discussing is inappropriate and immature. If you take offense to that, then you should do a little self-examination; your responses speak volumes.
I am glad you make $90k/year if, in fact, you do. That is a lot of money and I am sure if it was at risk due to you viewing inappropriate content, you would not do it, and you would feel exactly the same as me, and others on this board.
I am not looking down on anyone else on this board, but let me tell you a little about myself. I am 48 years old, I graduated with honors and have an Applied Technology Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, I work for a Fortune 100 company, and I know a little about professionalism and what it is like to work under a Code of Business Conduct. That is some of what I bring to the table on this Board. Does it make me any better than anybody else, no, of course not; but just maybe it makes me a little more experienced when it comes to knowing first rate vs. second rate and striving for excellence. I am 5'7" tall, I weigh about 170 lbs. and I don't know anything about martial arts, boxing, or anything like that, so you probably shouldn't refer to me as "tough guy" because I am anything but.
I meant no offense in bringing your daughter up, she is a precious gift from God, and you should do everything in your power to protect her from the very things we are discussing. My wife and I have been married for over 19 years and we have no children; you are very fortunate.
As far as judging others goes, I don't judge you or anyone else as a person, but I do judge what you say and how you conduct yourself in a public forum. It is you who has sunk to name-calling and outright insults, not me. I am not offended, I am thicker-skinned than that. However, as a moderator on this board, I warn you now, this will not be tolerated and I urge you to restrain your emotions and think before you hit that Post Reply button.

First thing I want to say is everyone needs to cool down. Lets not start insulting each other over such an asinine thread. Now the proboard rules states we can't have any material of this type. I have no problem seeing a little skin but then again I could car less if I did on here or not. Whether or not someone wants to view that is his or her own perogative and does not make that person any better or worse than anyone else. I am not going to lock this thread because we are not children here. We have our own beliefs and I feel it is good to express them . BUT REGARDLESS OF WHICH SIDE YOU SWING ON THIS ISSUE, PLEASE SHOW RESPECT TO THOSE THAT DON'T SHARE YOUR OPINION. Thanks guys ;D
