This happened a while back when I owned my 300ZX TT M5. So Tommy, (Docspeed) has been hounding me about wanting to race my Z in his 1988 Mustang GT M5. I chicken to tell you the truth, because I had heard about how he was really beating alot of people in that car. Well, my friend Jeremy and I are over at Tommy's house one day and we decide, screw it lets run em. We drive out to the end of this road that intersects Countyline Road in Banks county. Its inbetween an 1/8th of a mile and a 1/4 from the beginning of the stop sign where we started and the top of the hill where the race was to end. Here are the cars and the mods
1990 300ZX Twin Turbo M5: HKS CAI, HKS muffflers, !Cats
1988 Mustang GT M5: Flowmaster mufflers, UD Pulley, not sure what else (let Tommy fill me in on that).
Well we line them up at the stop sign. Tommy is in the car by himself and I have Jeremy in the passenger side. I count off 1-2-3 and we are off. We both bark the tires pretty good but get an excellent launch and are neck and neck thru the top of first. Tommy speed shifts into second and immediately jumps out half a fender on me. I thought "d@mn! He's got me
" When I drop into second I start to pull on him slowly and by the top of third he was at my rear quarter panel and we shutdown. That was an awesome race. Tommy can drive like a madman and I think had he had a little more power he would have taken me. I just out muscled him that time!
