i have a 1997 z28 lt1 and the oil pressure on the gauge shows d@mn near 0 when at idle but when i give it a little gas say 1300 rpm's the gauge goes up is it my oil pressure unit?buy the way it is a six speed so u know? thanks brian

First off, have you checked your oil level recently? Low oil can cause that kind of thing(not trying to be a d!ck just trying to elliminate the simplest probible cause). Second, if the oil is good than it sounds like your pump is bad(or clogged). Either way I wouldn't recommend driving it till it gets fixed.

id check the gauge, or the sensor or the sending unit before id look at it being a bad oil pump. i was looking at a formula and it did that the guy changed the sensor and it worked fine.
