www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-09-04-neworleanspolicesuicides_x.htmNothing can be harder, then trying to protect people around you, do your job as a cop, and always in the back of your mind know you dont know where your wife and kids are... you dont have a home to go to.... My families prayers go to our boys in blue. For what ever they were before this, the ones who are still out there doing there job, in my eyes, they are the definition of a HERO

Absolutely.
That's a touching article. It's hard to fathom what kind of hell all of those poor people are going through right now. Like you said, for the policemen down there who are in the same boat as everyone else, it's amazing that they still have the drive and determination to continue their duties as police officers. True selfless heroes.
It seems like they are finally making some progress helping the people down there, after several days of pretty much nothing. For those who survived, they now face a very difficult road ahead of them. My heart goes out to them.
Do you think they'll try to rebuild in the future? Or are these towns going to end up as "ghost towns" like Chernobyl?

It would have been nice if they had gotten National Guard troops out to help them alot sooner. Things would not have been as bad as they are had they. God bless them all!

Agreed, they do a great job. I don't think that I could have that much dedication knowing that my home is probobly gone also.
