OK, so its late and I'm here at school and for some reason I'm watching C-SPAN. There showing a big rally against drilling for oil in the Artic Wildlife Refuge. There seems to be quite a few people against it, as there is a pretty big crowd there. I just dont see why people are so against drilling the oil? To save the animals? I just dont understand. If its going to knock down gas prices, why not do it? The people on here are claiming that it wont effect gas prices at all and I realize that alot of our problem is that we dont have any new refinaries, but thats due to the EPA putting such strict regulations on them. I still just dont see how this couldnt bring gas prices down. I guess I just dont see the enviornmentalists' point. We're just supposed to just lay down and make the animals happy? To me, animals are only here for us to eat and kill anyway. I just dont get it. Im sure there are alot of people here that are for it and alot against it. Just seeing what everyones opinions on this matter are..........

From what theyre saying, we should just wait until there are plenty of hybrid cars for everyone. They just want us to quit drilling and make everything solar powered. I disagree, that would take way to long for a transistion of that magnitude. Its all Democrats speaking, too, no Republicans. Just seems to be a pattern forming. Kerry just spoke. Im sure he will change his mind tomorrow. Expect him at the "Support Drilling The Artic Wildlife Refuge" rally tomorrow. Sorry, but I just dont like the guy.

the processes to make solar panels, unless things have changed, produce large amounts of polutants. also people want to make Hydrogen powered vehicles, besides have that great and lovely gas in a pressurized condition it is a very difficult, expensive and poluting process to perform. and hydrogen fuel cell also make very large amounts of polutants when produced and manufactured. this is from research i have done a while back so new things might have happened but i seriously doubt it.

Eh, everybody is a hypocrite.
My question is, how did the 'tree-huggers' get to the protest? Did they drive? If they walked, do they realize how much oxygen they wasted by breathing, and how much poisonous carbon monoxide they puffed out?

Eh, everybody is a hypocrite. My question is, how did the 'tree-huggers' get to the protest? Did they drive? If they walked, do they realize how much oxygen they wasted by breathing, and how much poisonous carbon monoxide they puffed out? I agree, if we have the time to protest/argue/treehug, I say we then have the time to come up with new things/technology. we can't juts not drill oil without having an affordable/non-polluting alternative, we are not there yet. everybody is quick to complain and judge but we don't get off our asses to do something PRODUCTIVE about it. it's really easy to just yap and complain but its really tough to find the "ON" switch to the brain to start thinking of new stuff. I think that's the biggest problem and not the politics or the money. them tree huggers need to realize how much of the oil products they use and decide if they are willing to live without them. quick example, no oil, no gas, no car, not even bicycle because bicycle tires are made out of oil. we simply can not live without the million oil products and not drastically change our way of life.

that's ture and the retarded treehugger's don't realize that all the oil rigs the they damage make the pollution worse than what it really is, and those dealership parking lots that they burned the h2's to a crisp made more pollution that the h2 would emit in 20 10 years.they are retards that should be in shot on site..

The world would be so much simpler if everyone would bother to look into an issue before spouting off their "glorious opinion". 5 minutes on google would change the opinion of many loudmouths on about any issue. The eco-nazis scream for electric cars without realizing how badly power plants pollute, and look how many of them live in Kalifornia with the brown outs!
