I have an idea for the music videos at the bottom of the home page. Why dont we ditch the music videos and put some F-body videos? That seems like it would be cool to have. I dont know if we could do that legally, but if we could, I think it would be awesome. www.f-bodyhideout.com has got some sweet videos. Maybe someone on here could talk to one of those guys and see about using a few of their videos. I think it would be cool to see some tire-smoking at the bottom of the screen. Thats something everyone can agree on that never gets old. As long as we can figure out how to do it legally. ;D Just a thought.... |

ill be more than happy to make a video doing some burnouts.
and i have a few friends who will do it to. then you will have our
permission to post them at the bottom of the home page.
then you can forget about the legal stuff with other people.

I'll volunteer some video if I can figure out how to get it from the digital(with tape and stick) camcorder/camera to my PC... Ive got the cable and software, shouldnt be too bad...
Ive got a bunch of racing vids (at the track) and as soon as the car gets back, I'll gladly make some burnout vids ;D

and then load them into the pc. not sure how to load them
on here tho. may have to get raymond to help.

Cool. What do the moderators think of this? I like the car vids idea, but I really don't like the whole full time streaming video thing. There is no way to mute just the sound from it, so it is always playing along with anything else you want to listen to. At work I am on dial-up and it slows the machine to a crawl. In my job, I have to occasionally test things with sound and I have to shut down the website to do it now. Can't moderate what you can't see. My opinion is if it can't be made optional, or mutable, I don't want it. It just interferes too much, and the same songs over and over again is annoying as hell. If I want music, or anything else, I don't have any problem playing them at my discretion and my choice. With this thing, I don't have any choice. Please, please, make it go away. Sorry, just my opinion. |

Its OK, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I wouldnt like it if I was on dial-up, but Im on the colleges T-1 (Maybe T-3) line, so its pretty fast for me.

Not to mention that the same song over and over all day gets annoying real quick. My vote goes to car vids without sound. Or at least an option to mute the sound. I mean, this is a car site! If we want music, we have cd's to play and streaming audio from our favorite radio stations. We dont need it here. |

I have to shut this site down because the music doesn't stop even when I start something else. As long as this site is up, I can't watch a video, play a cd, dvd, anything. It totally owns my desktop and makes being a moderator more difficult because it is either all this site and little else, or I have to shut this site down to do other things. That is just plain wrong. If Microsoft were to do that, the world would be screaming from their rooftops and lawsuits would abound because you can't turn it off. That is how I feel as a moderator whose job is to be online watching over this site, but I can't do anything else. Then there is the bandwidth issue. Streaming video/audio hogs bandwidth, especially on my dial-up connection at work. Just turning off the speakers doesn't help that at all. |

I might have figured out how to get video from my camera onto my computer. I think I was overlooking the USB port on my camera all along. Its kind of hard to see. If I can get the videos, Ill gladly contribute to the site. My roomate's major is film production or something like that, so he has all the software and more importantly, we both have the time to make some killer videos.

I have yet to listen to a whole song. I have only listened to the first 30 seconds. Thats what gets annoying to me, I hear the intro like 10 times while Im browsing the site.

It's eigther all or nothing At home, my cursor disappears when I try to click on it, and just clicking where the cursor should be doesn't do anything. At work, the video doesn't even appear, just the sound and it is intermittent....a couple of seconds of sound, then a couple of seconds of nothing. Again, clicking where the video would be, doesn't do anything. I have no use for this at all. Last night, on my laptop at home, I was only able to look at one post, or two posts at a time before the window would lock up and I would have to close it and open a new one. Fortunately, there was practically nobody posting anything, or I would have been really annoyed. |
