OMG....teh mehc checked everything...leakdown cylinder balance test once more everything checked out. ....he scanned everything, he then saw right side of engine injectors and fuel trim running higher at idle than left side. right side=4.98 Left side 3.28 He found that the right side of the injectors harnesses were crossed......so he said that the gas on that side of the engine was causing the oil on teh cylinder walls to be flushed out causing the light smoke...he said after switching the harnesses.... injector right side= 3.28 left side 3.29 He also let it sit overnight and turned it back and and saw no smoke and he also let it run for an hour and no smoke! So seals are good as well....Is this possible? Who would have guesses...plus it seems it accounts for my split bml problem as well!!! YES!!!

Well I'm glad to see that you've got it fixed. The question is, how did each half of the injector harness wind up on the wrong bank? I don't know if it's possible on a 4th gen F-body, being I don't own one, but is is possible that the O2 sensor wires were plugged up to the wrong bank?

O2 sensors? what are you talking about... Im talkin gabout the injector harnesses! The little clips on ttop of the injectors! The 4 that are on the right side were mismatched......but anyways, do you think that was the problem?

so neither you or your mechanics could tell the difference between burning oil and a rich fuel condition?

uh...no..did you read..the smoke was bluish white and not black!!! it wasnt rich..it was running lean on the right side...but he was checking for the cmoking problem. He found nothing ont he leakdown test, and he found injectors were missplaced on right side causins the split blm problem ( running lean on right side) so the computer dumped a lot more fuel on that side causing it to run rich . That was causing a fuel problem in those cylinders that washed the oil off the cylinders and caused the little smoke! You wouldnt been able to tell if you saw it either...so what do you think...
P.s my mechanic found it in a day...this is the first time he has seen it. or checked it out.

they should try a wideband air/fuel monitor. the rings keep the oil from getting in the chamber, so unless your rings are screwed you werent burning oil. the smoke was fuel, not oil. there is a big difference. seriously, who doesnt check to make sure the injectors get plugged in correctly when buttoning up an engine? im not trying to be mean, but do yourself a favor and dont take that car back to whoever put it together.

I dont understand...i have always heard that if its fuel its black smoke...but this was white bluish smoke for sure!!!= oil burning...plus my oil did burn I checked it and it did go down!
My mech told me that the extra fuel the computer was dumping on that side was washing the oil off of the cylinders causing it to burn and make that little amount of smoke and burn oil......so possible or no?
Oh and btw....the previous owner had done the injectors...not the shop..... ( but lethal performance didnt think of any of that......)
and what did you think of the purple oil now?
It was burning oil!!! the dipstick read low after a while, but clyinder leadown balance test showed fine twice and so did compression!!! It has to be this that he found....and he is using a laptop and a tuning program..

the rings seal the oil from getting in the chamber. its splash oiling, so with every piston down stroke the wall gets scraped, and on the upstroke it gets splash oil from the rod and main bearings. otherwise you get oil contamination in the cylinder which leads to detonation. im not scolding you, it just gets frustrating to hear about mechanics either lying to cover up their fu(k ups or feeding people a line of $hit because they dont know the basics of an internal combustion engine.

you know what redline uses as promotion for their oil? every craftsman truck and winston cup race. seriously.

EDITED ABOVE POST...
I understand, I hate when they do that..." oh dont worry its just rich" But this mech is a new one, does good work, I just told himwhat was going on and to find it,he checked lcompression and leakdown first, then any vacumm leaks, then for intake manifold leak, none. So he went on his program and this is all he found! SO still havent gotten your answer if this is possible or not? about the injectors....
but the royal did net those extra horses, you reall think redline is better than it? if so then f*** royal...im getting the redline.

thats cool you found a new mechanic. its possible that if the two cylinders were dead lean the pcm was reading off the 02s a general lean condition and dumping more fuel in it. but that shouldve been found simply by reading the plugs. which you said were fine. also, anyone with any experience with cars should be able to tell the difference between a rich condition and burning oil. live and learn.

uh...i read the left side ones...hehe.....and its all 4 cylinders on the left side that were crossed....well hope problems fixed though, cant wait till I check it out myself, will keep you updated in this thread! laters! Like is said it was doing both because of the rich condition...it was burning oil!!!! hopefully this solved the problem.

it wasnt burning oil unless the oil was getting past the rings, the valve seals or the intake gasket. if thats the case you have more then one problem.

uh...I dont think you understand....My car had full oil after I replaced the radiator, I ran it a couple times on the street, I check it in the morning and dipstick is real low.
take it to a diff mech with 35 years of certified tech master experience to do a cylinder leakdown test, checks out great! Checks for everything, and he ends up finding the injectors being connected wrong which caused them to run lean which caused the computer to dump a whole bunch of fuel on that side that washed down the oil in those cylinders....so that being the case, the washing down would cause it to burn off or "waste" and cause the little smoke.....dont you think? IT CANT BE RINGS!!! Compressions and leakdown already checked out great three times, with three different places!!! Does not smoke on cold startup so it cant be seals!!! And plus he says after fixing the injectors he left it on for an hour, and no smoke, then turned it on the morning and no smoke....
P.s when i say it burned oil, Im saying it did because the oil had to go somewhere and there are no oil leaks...

well, if it washed the cylinder walls the rings could have a bad seal. but you are saying all is right, if all were right it wouldnt be burning oil. and getting injector wires crossed isnt going to cause it to burn oil. its two different problems. thats why its called 'ring seal'. if oil were meant to get into the chamber you wouldnt use rings.
