well sat night was our last time drag racing at our local track. the land was sold to some housing developmer, to build more houses. i am so depressed now. the closest tracks to us is gainesville, fl or douglas, ga., both are 2 hours away. however, we did find out that the track mgr. has gotten the $$, and is now looking for 160-200 acres to buy. he plans on building a 1/4 mile track. but we dont know if he's going with NHRA or IHRA. either way it will be 6-8 months before we can race locally again. we are planning a trip to gainesville for a show called "the no lip nationals" i know i'll go out in the first round. there are so many faster street cars that will be there. but on the good side i did win most consistant with 9.0858/9.0860, in my bird. and mark won fastest domestic with 7.73, in the CETA. now all the in-experienced kids will be out there street racing and taking the chance of killing someone or themselves.

That deffinately sux! We had two tracks in the San Antonio area, but the NHRA track shut down a few months back. I've heard a few different stories as to why. I've heard that the city bought the land to build the Toyota plant on, and I've also heard that it was shut down because the track wasn't kept up (that part of it is no lie!) so they can't re-open until they redo the track. Regardless of why, our NHRA track is closed.
