Many of you have asked, and even more have probably wondered, "what do I have to do to add pictures to my posts?"
This is simple. All you need to do is type the link to the picture in your post where you want the picture to appear.
So now your probably wondering, "what link?............where do I get this?......."
For a picture to have a link, it has to be hosted. This means that the picture has to be stored on a server, and has to be assigned a web address that will give access to the particular picture so it can be viewed on the internet.
"How do I host a picture?"
Simple. All you have to do is register for a hosting account.
There are many FREE picture hosting accounts that you can sign up for. Two that I can think of right off the top of my head are www.photobucket.com and www.pix8.net. Once you register, and obtain an account, you will be given directions on how to download pictures from your computer. Once you download a picture to your hosting account, you will be given a link to this picture. With this link, all you have to do is copy and paste it in a post that you are typing up here on the board. For this link to show up as a picture, and not just a link to the picture, you'll need to add IMAGE tags around the link. To add IMAGE tags, you'll need to either click the image tag box , or type in the IMAGE tags manually, and add the link between the IMAGE tags.
You can add pictures in your signature the same way. Host the picture you would like to add, and copy the link. Then go into your profile by clicking the button. This button is located just under the site banner at the top of the page. Once this takes you to your profile, left click Modify Profile[/color]. This will take you to the Modify Profile page. Scroll down near the bottom of the page where it says Signature:. Paste the link in this box, but be sure to add the IMAGE tags around the link. If you don't, you'll only see the link to the picture in your signature, and not the picture itself.
You can also create your own custom avatar pictures using your image hosting account. Simply host the picture that you want to use as your avatar, and add the link where it says Avatar URL: in your profile.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to PM any our staff members.
