i got a 90 lx 5.0 for free and its cheaper to put together the whole car with a solid roller 351W w/ TEA ported TFS TW heads, a carburetor and a C4 trans then it will be to put the camaro together. the money i save on not having to buy a 12 bolt will be substantial. at a 3000lb race weight i expect to make around 450rwhp on motor and it should run low 11s. on the bottle i dont know what it will make, but should be in the low 10s. ive always been a ford guy, i just cant pass this opportunity up.

its true, but trans internals are like engine internals. a stock lt1 rotating assembly isnt going to hold 1000hp, but forged internals will. you can get better input shafts, drums, planetaries, valvebodies, ect for the c4 and it only eats a little more hp then a manual trans. the c6 eats 70 hp more then a c4. a c4 eats 30 hp more then a manual at 600hp.
