Most of you guys know I got the grape from Metalbeast. Well I have started changing somethings around to the way I would have wanted it.
The first thing I fixed was a leaking header gasket. This sucker was blown out bad! I ended up buying a set of felpro gaskets and when I went to replace the blown out one I noticed something. The gasket that had been used covered up most of the port work done to the head, restricting exhaust flow. So I cutt the new felpro to size and still need to do the same on the other header to help the engine breathe better.
Then I addressed the exhaust. I removed the resonator and had a H-pipe installed in its place. Made the Grape sound alot better and also louder. I may have picked up a few ponies from this. I atleast dropped some pounds, the resonator was heavy.
I am now just finishing up a shift kit. This thing was a breeze to install but was time consuming. I should be testing it Thurday. I have a rebuilt Dana36 rearend coming in a couple of weeks. It is equipped with 3.54 gears, a major improvement over the current 2.59s that are currently installed. The Grape is running consistant high 12's now with the stupid 2.59 so I see low 12's to high 11's with some drag radials.

Congrats on acquiring the Grape. I guess Jeff still gets to ride in it occasionally. Glad you are back and look forward to talking with you again.
