If your trip odometer stops working, won't go paste 99, do you have to replace the whole speed odometer?

I would imagine that you'd have to replace the whole thing. It might be one of those things where its not even worth the trouble to swap the trip odometer alone. I have never done it or had my dash out, so I couldn't tell you for sure, I'm really just guessing.

I've never worked at a GM dealer, but from 10 years of working in the car business (Dodge, Acura, Honda, and Mitsubishi dealerships) I've never seen a dealer sell just a gauge or a trip odometer. They'll usually only offer the entire gauge cluster. There's only one way to know for sure though. Call a Pontiac or Chevy parts department, and ask. I'm sure you could find the cluster cheaper through a salvage yard though.

Is this on your T/A? If so, I guess I'm no help, but I'm buying a parts car here in about a week (94 Camaro) and the guage cluster in that is still good. Didn't know if you were posting for a friend or something.
If it is for your T/A, Ebay is your friend.

Yes this is for my T/A. d@mn thing works intermitingly. Hangs up at 99, 199, 299 for awhile then finally rotates. Let me know if want to get rid of that cluster lt1sierra. I was just looking at my repair manual and it doesn't look like it's to difficult of a job.
