My car was in the body shop so i decided to give my TA a little face lift by installing an functional ram air hood from Ramairhood.com. ($795) Well whem my body man finally got the hood 3 1/2 weeks later it had bad stress marks and was warped! My body man said he could fix it no problem and we would try and bill the repair to the company. That was not the big problem, when we put the hood on to test the fit, it was way off! Im talking 1/2" to 1" gaps and it wasn't even gaps the driver side was worse than the left. I am wating on a call back from the company to see what the will do for me. I need an opinion on what I should do. Is there a better hood for that price, should I wait who knows how long for another? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I always hear that you get what you pay for. Is that true about VFN? I saw there hoods and they look sweet, but has anyone had any bad experience with them?

Every single one Ive seen is top notch. Never heard any complaints. Im planning to buy one eventually for my car, just have too much drivetrain/suspension stuff to do first.
With any aftermarket hood, you should expect to have to re-align the fenders, nose, and hood to make everything line up like factory. Most people wont go through the trouble to do this, and then complain about fitment.
The worst fiberglass hoods Ive ever seen are from Suncoast Creations, to me it looks like the molds they use are twisted. And its so bad that no amount of re-alignment will fix it. Ive installed 5 of there hoods and would not buy one if it was the last available on earth. JUNK

Very true, I hear that buying an after market hood that fits perfectly is unheard of or very rare, even though some companies will calim that they do. Prep work is definately to be expected. But how much, totaly depends on what you get when you unwrap your new hood. My hood just might be beyond repair.
