The following E-mail has been addressed to RamAirHoods.com . Please take the time to read this and tell me what you think.
I ordered one of your ram air hoods through my body shop (Alamo heights Collision Center) in San Antonio TX. After waiting 3 1\2 weeks to receive my hood, we noticed that it had severe stress marks. We ignored that since I knew there was going to be some prep work needed. Once we installed the hood we realized that it did not line up anywhere. The passenger side had 3/4 inch gaps from the headlight on up to the windshield. The driver side was even worse 1 1/2" inches from the headlight to the middle of the fender, then it slowly closed in as it got to the hinges. I have seen cheaper hoods from glasstek and suncoast creations that fit better than that. We took the hood off and put it on the ground just in time to see how warped it was. Is this not covered by your warranty? I understand that there is some prep worked involved, but this is ridiculous. According to your owner Paul, it "clearly" stated that this issue was covered on your web site and to expect it in the event you received a hood in that condition. It is going to cost me $500 in prep work to get the hood to look decent, but I will still be left with huge gaps all the way around. All we asked was to meet us half way on the financial aspect of preparing this hood for mediocrity, but I guess that was to much to ask for. I came to your organization for a quality part and received less of a product for what I paid. The order was even incomplete, I never received my chrome decal! If this is your way of doing business, I regret to inform you that you will no longer receive my business, not to mention the hundreds of F-Body members that I have daily contact with.
I am sorry that I have to come to you with a bad taste in my mouth, but I am a business man and as a business owner you reap what you sow.
Just wanted to let my fellow F-body enthusiasts and supporting members know my pain with hope that it will prevent this from happening to someone else. "Read all of the warranty and ask the questions it doesn't cover before you order".
