well im going to be coming into some $$$. and the first thing i thought about was my bird. i have decided to get a LS6 block for her. there will be a cam and a few other things as well. but while the new motor is being put together, im going to order all of the suspension parts. this way it will all be put on the car all at one time. then to break in the motor and then to get her dyno tuned. my husband has put NOS on his, but i want mine to be ALL MOTOR. and leaving him in my dust at the track. i really want mine to be done in the old style racing. then her name will be changed to "Momacoz's Beast" unless you can come up with another catchy name.

why go with a LS6 and not a LS2? the LS2 is bigger and has same basic HP numbers and really isnt much diffrent than the Gen 3 motors.
just a thought

the LS2 is newer and i thought they fixed slight oiling issues with the earlier LS1/6 engines. and you wont break the LS2 it is a good sturdy block.

i have a friend who had a LS2. lets just say that the block wont make a very nice table. the crack is too noticable. i wish i had taken a pic before we wrapped and taped it up, for storage. so many of my friends are getting away from the 2 block, and going with the 6 block instead. and not one of them have killed one yet.

it is one of those things if you are going for a pretty stock better engine it works fine, you start trying to make stupid power with it things break, i could tell you some stories that would make you crap yourself with old antique tractor pullers, like some they cut a way so much of the block that they get into the waterjacked and continue till they reach the outside of the block and then sleeve it and weld it up and put an 8.5 in piston in it and 11in stroke and go pulling. it isnt safe for daily work on the farm anymore, and there lucky if it lasts 1 pulling season but they do it anyways. i take my stock tractor out there have fun and then take it home and do chores with it. here is the odd part they are the same model tractor with the same block. and both are 50+ years old.
just a thought.
