So the rumor has finally gotten out about my 1st gen Camaro being a little quick. A good friend of mine decides that he wants to test out his new restro L82 Vette on me and make a laughing joke out of my car Nicknamed the Beast. It got the nickname due to the extremely loud exhaust, multicolored crappy paint job, and the built 400 small block that rested under the hood. In his Vette rested a L82 small block 350, solid cam, edelbrock intake, windsor sr. heads, and a lot of other things that only a rich boy's father could afford.
There were 2 close friends at the time that rode shotgun in each of our cars to see exactly who won in case it come to a close race. Luckily for me it wasn't close at all.
We were staged against each other on a 4 lane highway from a roll of about 30 miles per hour. We were to start on three but the L82 guy thought it would be funny to jump on 2, didn't matter. I waited till three then took off. My buddy riding shotgun in the L82 said it sounded like I was bringing hell with me when I flew by the Vette.
Disgusted, my rich buddy sold his Vette a couple of weeks after the race in hopes of finding something faster than the Camaro. He found a modded 94 GT but that is another story.

I wish I had got to see that race. Was this on the same road that I raced Will Colefield? Hmm, that reminds me.......
