Anyone have a good how-to on adjusting the shift linkage on a 4L60E? Trying to help my buddy get his set and I'm a manual, don't know too much about this auto. When you shift to Park it doesn't quite make it, if you reach down and just push the linkage a tiny bit it clicks into Park. Reading the Chiltons was limited somewhat, I found the adjuster with small plastic teeth, not sure if you depress it on the side or top and not sure if you have to unbbolt the mount from the tranny oil pan to do this, surely you leave it all hooked up and just adjust accordingly. Appreciate any tips or how-to urls if anyone has any.

Its actually quite easy... Leave it all bolted to the tranny. Unclip the end of the cable from the tranny's shift arm... Depress the button and push/pull on the cable end untill its dead centered over the stub its supposed to be attached to. I dont think it matters, but I always adjusted mine with the shifter and shift arm in the park position. Once you have it centered good, push the clip onto the stub and your done. Oh, and that part that has the button, usually has a metal clip from the factory to keep this adjustment from being tampered with; remove and reinstall this clip as neccessary.

thanks Fire, I tried to adjust it today, freaking so simple I'm sure yet we can't figure out the clip..ggrrrrrrr I hate stupid easy things that I should be able to figure out. I don't see a metal clip. He's just going to bring it to his tranny shop down the street, shouldn't cost nothing to adjust it. Thanks again.
