just a $20 oil filter adapter for a small block chevy from summit. im deleting the whole thing, its more of an oil heater then a cooler because its cooled by antifreeze running through the sandwich block. on hot days it actually adds heat to the oil. im in texas, i dont need that thing.

Anyone run oil to air coolers on they're rides? Im seriously considering one because this 383 seems to make some heat fast, even with the BeCool radiator... I too heard the factory one sucks... My car never had one.

My car never had one. i had one on a supercharged mustang i had. it only helped oil temp about 5*. oil temp was always at 175 before the cooler and 170 after. that was with redline 10w40 though, so on cheap oil it might have more of an effect. on a wetsump system i am of the opinion that oil control is enough to keep the oil cool and external coolers wont do as much as adding a larger oil pan and running a windage tray/crank scraper and not over filling the system. but thats just been my experience. on our legends cars we run the coolers with the redline and see sometimes a 25 degree difference in temp, but thats on an air cooled motor that spins 10K rpm for 20 minute stretches. on street/strip cars that only run to 7K and have pleanty of cool down time, i dont even mess with it.
