Have a quick question maybe you guys can help me out. I want to get a set of headers. I can get a deal on jet-hot long tube without emissions. Is it worth removing the emissions and cat for more power. Right now I have original exhaust with mufflers removed. What is involved with removing the egr and air system if I decide to go this route? Thanks

If you go that route, you'll also need a blockoff plate for the EGR valve and the AIR fitting on the intake. I got mine on Ebay for like $20... Just make sure they're a good thick material for less chance of leakage.
Then all thats neccessary is to do your install and removal of parts, then get the trouble codes for the EGR and AIR turned off in the pcm.
You'll also need the matching y-pipe if you werent already getting it with the headers.
It will be obnoxiously loud and have alot of reonance without a muffler of some sort though.

I have the same issue. I have headers for mt 96 LT1 and would like to use them. Do I have to drill them for the O2 sensors, or can I use them as is and just remove the emissions? What exactly can I remove and will I gain more horsepower by not using the O2 sensors, or is there no difference?
