I had a 79 malibu with a 355ci sb. nothing fancy, edelbrock total performance package included small cam dual plane intake and 650 vacuum secondaries electric choke. again nothing fancy but it sure did look and sound cool. had to sell it though for something that had m6 and potential for corner carving.

the old '79 Z28 is carb friendly when i get out of college that will change....or maybe it wont. you know BBCs fit into 2nd gens edit: forgot to add it still has the stock intake and carb. does have some long tubes w/duals a H-pipe and flomasters. has a Hurst for the 4 speed, and a brand new Hayes clutch. the engine isnt stock, was replaced under warrenty. tranny is a stock M20 borg-warner close ratio 4 speed. factory posi w/3.73 gears. she is a happy car

Yea it probobly got converted to a sb during the first gas crunch back in the mid 70's. That seemed to happen alot back then. You'd see alot of bb Chevelles that somehow turned into smallblock cars. If they had only known! When I was 10 my sisters best friend's parents bought a brand new 70 SS454 Chevelle. They traded it in 6months later for something that got better gas mileage.

It had a set of camel hump heads, bored .060 over, .500 lift cam, stock crank, stock pistons, Edelbrock intake, Mallory ignition, Carter 650, Light weight flywheel, Light weight starter, Mallory fuel pump, T350 w/shift kit, B@M shifter, Duel exaust with Hooker block huggers and turbo mufflers, and a Flex a Lite Blackmagic fan. It took me 9 months to put togeather. This was my first V8.
