www.turbotechnologyinc.com makes good quality kits and the turnaround is about 4 weeks, but it still wont be as easy to work on as a blower kit. as the boost levels rise you can count on replacing blower belts, or rewelding turbo headers when they crack. pick your poison.

as far as turbotechnology, i have gone up there and talked to them and they seem a bit...dumb. however you can order the kit and do it yourself or have a trusted mechanic do it. i personally am looking at proturbo

Cool. Are those rear mounted turbos any good? If you dont mind having an air filter behind your rear tire and trusting the life of your turbo to an electric oil pump. I guess their alright, I wouldnt give them any other credit than just alright.

what kind of hp gains do you get with the turbo vs a supercharger and what are the pro's and cons of both

my 93 mustang went from making 220rwhp to 508rwhp maxing out a 60-1 hifi turbo on a turbotechnology street kit. that was at 16lbs of boost. im just gonna tell you the bad things about both.
turbos-hard to control low end boost, makes so much mid range its hard to hook up. welds on headers crack after a while. harder to work around, i wouldnt even consider putting one in a 4th gen f body. you have to know what your doing when it comes to tuning. they like less timing and more fuel then blower cars.
blowers-on my vortech blown 91 mustang i was always tearing up belts because i was running north of 16lbs of boost on a serpentine. if you leave the belt tight on a blower all the time its gonna tear up the bearings. the blowers will need freshening more then a turbo because they are belt driven. i dont even think parasitic loss is an issue. my buddy had a stock 93 cobra with a stock motor and an s-trim. we ended up making 503rwhp at 16lbs. my LX had better heads and an f303 and made in the 540s. i havent seen much difference on the dyno. my blower combo was down about 100rwtq from my turbo, but it was much easier to hook the car up.

I bet it would be a nightmare to install a turbo on an LT1 in a F or Y body.

Looked really cool with the long tube coming from the turbo all the way down the length of the car.

Crisbequick, you have any pictures of your setup? Were about to install a Pro Turbo Kit on my buddy's 95 Z. The motor is being assembled now, so when we start to get it all together I'll get lots of pics to show you guys... I can tell you now that the PTK gen2 kit doesnt clear a canton oil pan or a BMR k-member... The pan couldnt be made to fit, but the k-member just needed some creative notching and welding to make it work.

THen he ran from the headers into the turbo 2.5" pipe (from each header). The turbo is located where the stock air filter is . He has a massive intercooler mounted behind the front bumper. It looks fanastic. the downpipe for the turbo runs under the steering shaft.

I got my griffin radiator so i will be cutting up my core support soonand will have a TON of room to work with. Chris jsut used the normal radiator mounting and what not and I will have my radiator mounted vertical giving me tons of room to play with. My only issue is there is no one to tune around here so I wil either HAVE to use a FMU (not sure on how reliable these are...) or a mail order tune. Some say go with the tune so i can have a few things changed like the AIR and EGR along with fan speeds and have it tuned for boost. Anyone think the FMU would be better?? Cuz im still not sure what im doing for fuel/tune.
