First let me tell you my intentions... Im going to be welding some crankcase evac tubes to my headers, so they'll need to be re-coated. My compressed air tubes are silver ceramic coated, but are all scratched up. Last but not least, my intake manifold is in need of some sort of attractive coating, anything better than bare aluminum.... Soooo, can you see where Im going with this? Id like to silver ceramic coat EVERYTHING, so it will look pretty and help keep temps in check. My dilema is that I dont have time to ship it all out to be coated, and the nearest shop to me that does it is a little over an hour away Ive seen the "tech line" coatings on summits website, and Ive also seen a DIY coating setup on The Eastwood Co.'s website. Ive never seen these coatings or even pictures of how finished products look. And they say that this stuff will dry with natural exhaust heat, even though I would use an oven. Anyone have first hand experience with these? How do they look? Can I safely apply one of them to my intake man. inside and out, as long as I cure it in an oven? Questions about other coatings to come, need answers to these first.
