If you want to leave it lowered just buy shocks. The fronts will have to be disassembled, then reassembled with the new shocks. If you want to raise it back up, you will need new, or the original, springs, plus the new shocks. As far as brands go, it depends on what you want the car for. I have the SLP Roadrace Bilsteins that have been revalved to be a little softer than the Bilstein HDs. The HDs are very stiff and ride quality suffers. My car is lowered 1 1/2" all the way around and the SLPs work very well, plus they are rebuildable if/when they wear out. If you want more for drag racing, the adjustable QA1s and Konis work well to allow you to get the weight to transfer better, but they are more expensive, especially the Koni double adjustables. Tokico makes a good all-around shock, too. I got in the habit a long time ago of buying stuff that has a lifetime warranty. The initial cash output is a little more, but you only have to do it once, or at least the next time, you only have to pay the labor, or do it yourself, the parts are free.
