Does anyone know if there are thinner head gaskets then the stock ones for a 97 lt1 and where could i get them?

you have two choices besides the orig.GM .051 gasket the Fel-Pro replacement is .039 and the GM impala is .029 I should be within a .001 or .002 on those #s. These are all compressed thickness. BTW,the impala is listed for cast heads, but it has been used on alum. heads by many with success,including myself. Be sure to check piston to valve and piston to head clearance. especially if your block has been decked.

Availabe gaskets and compressed heights: Stock f-body= .049 Felpro= .039 Stock Impala= .029 Mr. Gasket= .026
I am also running the Impy gaskets and have had no problems. My calculated compression with these is 11:1 (stock internals and heads).
