While we are on the subject. Are their any significant gains to be made by messing with the pcm when all you have are bolt ons, or dose this become necessary only after you have have gone to the next level? engine build, forced induction, h/c swap ect.

yes there are gains out to be had if you have bolt ons some tuners say you will get up to 13 rwhp gain with a normal tune

Tuning wouldnt hurt but its not nessisarry with just bolt ons really

Tuning bolton cars really helps the air fuel ratio across the rpm band. I netted 21rwhp from alot of trial and error on the dyno. All with the LTs, cutout, 58mm tb, CAI. So I definately think there is alot of power to be made, but it takes some time to get the most of it.

maybe a little 12hp but when and if you do heads and cam then a dyno tune is the way to go. a little pricey about 400-500 dollars but well worth it.
