Just a tip from someone who has been there... These are awsome cars, but they still need things replaced periodically. If your car is nearing 100,000 miles the stock rubber bushings are worn out! This is something that deteriorates over a long period of time and therefore is virtually un-noticed to the person driving. I replaced all of mine with the polyurethane ones. They added stiffness which makes the car handle tons better. The front lower control bushing is usually the first to go and affects the cars handling the most. Jack it up, pull the tire off and inspect yours. If it is even cracked it should be beplaced.

I'm not exactly sure, but I've been told my rear bushings are bad. Every time I go over a speed bump mya$$sqeaks. It bugs the sh!t out of me. If thats what it is how hard is it to fix.

I bought a complete bushing kit and installed them myself. They are not that hard to do if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. The rear sway bar and panhard bar are real easy, the lower control arm bushing knock out in one direction only. A hammer will knock them right out. Sounds like you need new shocks too. I have found they are worn out by 75,000 miles. Most shock manufactures warranty them to 50,000.
The front end is a different story though, you have to compress the springs (with a tool) to remove the struts. I had to use a torch to get some of the other ones out. This is a definite challange and the front end does have to be re-aligned afterwards.

Yea that makes sense (my car does have 85000 miles on it). My shocks probbibly are shot (d@mn, one thing after another ). Anyway so you think I should go ahead and replace both the front and rear bushings at the same time or only worry about the back for now? Dave.

On 4th gens you don't need a spring compressor on the front end unless you are changing springs or shocks. Just lift the car and let the front wheel droop. You can disconnect the shock at the lower control arm and then remove the ball joint and lower arm to replace your bushings. If you do want to change shocks, loosen the three fasteners that hold the spring mount and remove the shock/spring as an assembly. On the driver's side, you will probably need to pull the master cylinder from the booster. Don't disconnect the brake lines, just push it to one side. Take the assembly to an auto supply that has a strut spring compressor and for a few bucks they can do it for you.

I would pull a front tire off and inspect the bushings, look closly at the lower control arm bushing. If it is cracked or split they should be replaced. I found the front ones were in worse shape than the rear. With that many miles the shocks most definitely need replacing. You would really notice a difference in the handling and the ride.

Well I checked the bushings yesterday. The front seemed to be alright but the back were definitly bad, but when I pulled the tire off the front I noticed a nail stuck up in the sidewall. So I decided to go and get new tires and have them check the whole car out. Turns out that the shocks are bad (guess you were right 95LT1Z) but the front bushings were still good. I figure I'll go and replace them anyway when I get around to fixing the shocks and rear bushings. I've looked around a little at different shocks, struts and bushings but I have no idea which to go with. I don't want to spend a lot but I don't want to buy a peice of sh!t either. Any help you guys can give on the subject would be great. Thanks.

The kit at the bottom of that page has all of the above bushings except the Transmission Mount and the Motor Mount.
