Jeff, What kind of power numbers are you going for? I can help with the fuel calcs no problem, just need target Hp(flywheel), power adder details if any.
Ray, $1200 for the rotating assembly and block... How much for your heads, cam, & intake to go with it?

For the LE ported heads and intake, with a BBK dual 58mm throttle body and Vortech elbow, and the custom Bret Bauer blower cam, $2,200.
I have to sell the rotating assembly first though.

I have a couple of formulas I have used in the past to calculate FWHP. Last time I checked, I think 42 lbers were more than enough.

42's should be just more than enough for the 530fwhp your going for on an N/A motor. They have proven to be just a little to small for my F/I setup making that same power number... In this case, I'd definitely say those 48's are NOT too big. They'd just give you a little more of a safety margin in case you end up making more than expected. No power adders?

Im currently trying to get my hands on a buddies unused AFR 220cc competition ported heads to go on a blown stroker... If i cant get him to come off these heads for a decent price, I wont be building the stroker and will be looking into something else. If that ends up being the case, I'd be interested in purchasing your entire setup. That is top and bottom end, minus the vortech elbow Its gonna be the middle of next week before I know what's going on with the AFR head deal.

Well my buddy with the AFR's is asking a bit more than I was ready to spend, but there still a good deal worth building a stroker for... But I cant make any deals right now as I had some minor damage inflicted on my baby It just went to the body shop today and its gonna be a month before its done. The bad part is that the money tied up in the paint work is forcing me to wait on my motor project untill its done... Ray, I'd really like to tell you that your whole motor is sold to me, but I cant... Not at the moment anyway. Sooo, when my cars all purdy again I'll weigh my options and let you know what I want to do if the motor's still available when the time comes.

I know how you feel. A small lady in Tahoe, who could barely see over the back seat, backed into me in a parking lot when the car only had 800 miles on it. Right now it has a big honking scratch on the right front fender that I did myself trying to get too far over in the garage. Stupid! (head slap) Stupid! (head slap) Stupid! (head slap). When I get it back from getting the new tensioner, pulley, slave/throw-out, and beefed up tranny installed, I have to take it straight to the body shop. I am embarrassed to be seen driving the thing. ;D I know, I know, I need therapy, but the Dr. says I am not a danger to myself or anyone else. ;D

She makes me pay, and I punish her, so she makes me pay, and I have to punish her again. Now I am paying again. Nah, I built her for overkill. Just haven't got all the kinks worked out yet. I will tell you this though, the clutch hydraulics in these cars suck.

I hit some wet road and spun off the road... When I left the pavement the nose of my car took out a mail-box, and then the rear end of the car took out some brazillian pepper trees that had grown out over the ditch As far as damage goes, front and rear bumper covers, front drivers fender, front drivers side headlight, 2 dents in rear passenger fender, passenger side ground effect piece, and scratches on every d@mn panel except the roof. The car is getting completely re-painted and all the damaged parts replaced. To me, it might as well be totaled, the body shop and everyone else who's seen it says its just cosmetic stuff and "not that bad". Im so embarassed about anyone seeing the car like that, I towed the car to the body shop on the trailer with a car cover on it I guess its all good though, the cars gonna be nice and shiny like new again for the small cost of an insurance deductible ;D
