Few thoughts:
1) I see that you've re-arranged the forums, which helped a lot, but I have a suggestion. I understand the site isn't fully up-and-running yet, but at least until you've developed a large member list, the sheer number of forums is going to dramatically 'thin out' the board, leaving several forums completely dead. It's also somewhat difficult to find your way through 43 separate forums – ‘monotonous’ would be somewhat of an understatement. So, you might consider condensing some of the forums into broader criterion -- leaving as few forums as possible:
-I don’t know how many people you have lined up for the site, but do you think you'll need seven forums for motorcycles, or ten different sport compact forums? Unless it becomes a problem, the site may benefit from reducing these to single forums for each. They'll be a lot more active that way.
-How many big-block owners do you know? Enough to support two separate forums (both GM and Ford)? Or will there just be one guy in each -- mostly talking to himself?
-A single 'drivetrain', or perhaps even a 'drivetrain/suspension' forum could encompass all the separate transmission/rear-end/suspension forums. That's three down to one.
-A 'forced induction' forum could include both super- & turbocharging.
-You get the idea. The less forums, the healthier the site will appear, and grouping people together (as opposed to distancing them apart) should promote posting... or at least make the process simpler...
2) The color scheme works, although you'll find that most professional sites use a lighter background color with dark-colored font. Although it doesn't look as cool, they do this for a reason -- it's a LOT easier on the eyes when you are doing more reading. Dark backgrounds = more eye strain = headaches = less comprehension of the subject material. Again, this color scheme seems to work OK, but just something to think about. (Are you squinting as you read this? Do you feel even the slightest amount of strain on your eyes? After re-reading this post a few times, I do...)
That’s about all I can say for the time being. Just giving some feedback – do what you feel is best…<br>
