I like it... Easy to read, no strain on the eyes... Only thing is, my boss recognizes the color scheme when he sees it and gets pissed

I think the dark background works well with the banner and the other colors. My only suggestion would be to change the "mouse-over" color, or do away with it. It is the same color as the board title, so it makes the title disappear when your cursor moves across it.
Also, why does the "Hey, 1bad2k2ta....." appear on some screens, but not the main page? I would like to see that on the main page preferably below the navigation buttons.

Did some experimenting on my test board.....try 666666 and see what you think.

I think the color scheme looks fine, and I don't feel any eye strain -- which I was originally worried about. My only concern is that dark-colored forums are jinxed. A few years ago, there was a guy who used to go to LT1tech (enisguy I think?), and he also started a forum. It was almost the same color scheme as this one, and it was up for probably a year, but it was always dead. So, he eventually closed it. Can you point out any "very-successful" forums which are dark? Nearly all of them are light with bright accents. I'm not sure why it works that way, but light-colored forums tend to attract more members, whereas dark forums tend to die out. Whether they sense it or not, I think the dark colors make people sad inside, to the point that they subliminally don't want to go back to that dreery dark place. Not saying you should change it, nor that I would personally want it changed, but since you're asking for our opinion: I don't think dark colors help.

The boards that are really active (CamaroZ28.com and LS1Tech.com) have been around for years and years. It's not very hard to have a huge following if you've been around forever, especially during a time when there was no competition for your members.

I voted that I thought that it was ok. I am really indifferent when it comes to things like this...
I know on some forums, you can go to your personal settings and turn on the dark scheme if thats what you like, or you could leave it the way it is. Personally on a site that I am on that has this option, I chose the dark background.
