For me it have to be the 63' vette. When I was a kid I had a model of one and ever since then I've always wanted one. Any 60's vette would do but if I had a choice it be the 63'.

A Cobra or ZL-1 would be cool. But I would like to be able to drive it without an extreme state of parinoia.

Raymond: Funny that you ask about mods. When I got it I kept telling myself that it runs pleanty stout & i am not going to do any mods. But I find myself looking at stuff for it anyway, don't know how long I can resist! The only mod that I am considering is a CAI. I've got to concentrate on affording the payments right now! From the research that I have done the avg. 405hp Z is putting about 350 to the wheels some as high as 370 & the lowest that Ive seen is 340. Enough to keep me entertained for now. Have a good one!

Tom....... When did you head out to the track??? Is your beast sorted out yet? Not yet, but it's getting there. The Spal twin 10" fan setup resolved my overheating problem, and wiring the fuel pump directly to the alternator fixed the intermittent fuel issue, but the RAM 420 clutch w/900 series sintered iron disk barely made it through the 1800 mile break-in period. Replaced it with the Aussie clutch and all was well again. Went out Wednesday August 3rd and got in 14 runs in 1 hour 20 minutes, almost back to back. Now my new Aussie clutch is dragging making it hard to shift. My last run I missed 2nd and 4th. Then on the way home I got a ticket for 43 in a 30 because I was jacking with the shifter trying get it into 4th or 5th instead of paying attention to how fast I was going. Corey has been real busy lately, but I plan to take it back to him this evening (Sunday) to get the clutch bled or adjusted, the SD-Concepts tensioner for the supercharger put on, and dyno it again. Numbers are looking fairly respectable for 6 psi, but I can't get out of the hole (my girl is a bit of a pig at 3840 lbs). Running mid 12s at about 120mph (which should be good for mid 11s). I have been looking for that fine line between bogging and spinning. I have decided it either doesn't exist or is so fine that I may never find it. I need to get some ET Streets and see how it goes. I suspect I am seeing some belt slippage with the ATI tensioner; 6psi seems low with the pulley setup I have. On the other hand, the engine may just be flowing well enough to not create as much pressure in the manifold. In which case I need to pulley up a bit to see the 10-12 psi I was expecting and attain my goal of 650 rwhp and mid to low 10s. Tune is very conservative with only 17 degress of timing, IATs never went above 118 while on the dyno with no air being forced through the intercoolers, just the radiator. At the track I think the intercoolers got heat-soaked a bit because at the last I was only making 5.7 or 5.8 psi topping out 3rd. 1st and 2nd require some attention to the tach to keep from banging the rev limiter (6500). At any rate, it has been sitting in the garage for 11 days. I should get it back Monday or Tuesday for maybe another round at the track Wednesday evening.

Hey Fasglas: Man that black is awsome! Sure looks nice! I bought a new IROC camaro in 86 that was black. Good looking car,but was hard to keep clean. How about your other 2 Vettes? like to see pics of them also! Have a good one.

Thanks for the kind words Scooter! And yes, it's very hard to keep clean. I love the way your wheels look. Are they polished or chrome? They have just the right shine to them. Looks great with the silver! My other two Corvettes are a 1969 427 roadster and a 1958 pro street. The 69 vert is in primer and I don't have any pics of it, but here are a couple pics of the 58...

Fasglas; The wheels are polished & they are a pain, spent the better part of 2 days cleaning them up. Your 58 vette looks like a fun ride, now I have got to see a pic of the 69 427. If you see one of my posts above, THAT is one of the dream cars on my list. I have turned into a vette fanatic in the last couple of years, they are great. It's like I told someone, to me it can be a fast one or a slow one, just driving one puts a smile on my face! Have a good one!

Pics of the 69 won't be easy and they certainly won't be pretty. It's setting in a very cluttered garage and even has a few things setting on it. I'll try to take a pic of it in the next day or so, but it won't be much to look at.

I find myself looking at stuff for it anyway, don't know how long I can resist! The only mod that I am considering is a CAI. Yep, just a CAI. That's it, nothing else. ...Buuuuut once you have a CAI, you might as well throw in a new cam to make use of it, right? Well shoot, then you need some exhaust work done. Ahh screw it, a twin turbo will help with fuel economy... Scooter/Fasglas -- I envy you both. Very sharp cars you guys have. What's my dream car? A white, 1984 Chevrolet Cavalier Wagon. Preferably, one without a heater or radio, and the cracked windshield is optional. I've missed it ever since we got rid of ours in 1990.
