Which headers do you prefer? When you vote, explain the reason you feel the header you choose is the best. Look at the following aspects when you choose: - Bang for the Buck
- Quality/Durability
- Fit and Installation

Kooks are expensive but , Stainless, easy slip fit y-pipe, good ground clearance Awesome power and you have the option to step tube from 1-3/4-1-7/8 Polls are all based on what people feel as an opinion. This is mine regardless of price. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

The only brand I've ever used is FLP(Dynatech), and I don't think I'd recommend them. I like some of the features -- such as having interchangeable off-road pipes in place of the cats, and it does have all emissions fittings. But, for the money, I don't think it's worth it. The y-pipe fitment is lousy, and so is the ceramic coating. They don't even give you decent gaskets/bolts with the wopping pricetag: ($1250 w/ 2 cats included).

I like my Pacesetters, They are CHEAP as they get! Seriously, Ive installed several brands on LT1 F-bodys and the Pacesetters seemed to fit the best, install the easiest and have good ground clearance. I've heard and seen nice things about the KOOKS headers, but I have no first hand experience with them except the obviously high price tag. The hookers Ive messed with leak, in several places. And they provide less ground clearance. For the price, Id say you got ripped off if you bought the hookers. The pacesetters cleared everything nicely, a two piece flange was not used on the driver side eliminating the leak problems... The only things I dont like about my Pacesetters are: 1) The coating isnt that great 2) The y-pipe is not available coated 3) The instructions would drive you nuts if you dont have Exceptional mechanical abilities.
I choose my parts based on my budget, and my goals... Everything else just doesnt enter my mind most the time. IMHO the pacesetters get the Bang-for Buck award

Its actually hard to explain, but yes they do hit untill you adjust the steering column shaft... I'll do my best. On the part that protrudes from the firewall into the engine compartment, there is a U-joint and a slip fit collar with a bolt on the firewall side of the U-joint. You have to remove this bolt and separate the u-joint from the shaft coming from the firewall in order to install the drivers side header. When you re-install the u-joint/collar onto the steering shaft it will hit the header if you push the collar the same distance onto the shaft as it originally was. Instead, you will notice the hole through the shaft for the bolt is elongated... Just loosen the bolt a little and whack the collar out away from the firewall untill it stops on the bolt... Tighten it up there, about a 1/2 inch farther from the firewall, and it will not touch the header... If you install it in the factory position, its not the shaft, collar, or u-joint that touch the header... Its the bolt head that touches when you turn.

I also have the FLP's and will agree that the gaskets/bolts are pretty cheap considering the price. I will say that everything else worked out very well for me and I have been pretty happy with the FLP's, but I think my situation is unique in the fact that my install virtually had no problems and the headers and Y-pipe have worked well for me. Most people have had a lot of trouble with FLP's. I also got a good deal on the entire setup when I bought mine. I paid $1025 for everything with shipping, so I don't think that was to bad of a deal considering how expensive the FLP's system costs. Nobody has to worry about paying to much for the FLP's anymore. The system no longer exist for the LT1's

The Jet hot's are the biggest PITA to install. I voted pacesetters.

I have the pacesetters and love em. Pretty easy to install and great plug access. I didnt have any problems with them hitting anything on the car. They fit just fine.

I had Mac's on my old formula. Realitively inexpensive & seemed to work well. Only drawback is that they wer'nt coated. but still looked good after 4 years.

Has anybody ever used or seen Arizona Speed and Marine headers? I see these things all over the internet but never hear a word about them. Kinda makes me curious I didn't know they made a long tube. If you're talking about the shortys they make, cousin put them on his 94TA. We hade to disassembly the steering shaft and run it between one of the tubes that was a 2 piece desighn. The coating still looked prety good after 9 years although their y pipe rusted. Made good power. Sucked for plugwires since they were soo close to them. They burn them up on the heads side at the boots. Eventually went with some accell extreme 9000's.

I'd have to say pacesetters, because I have seen/heard them on a LT1, and actually helped with the install on an LS1 and then got to drive the car. Fitment/Install was a 4 out of 5 but who ever said putting long tubes in without a lift was easy...

I love my Jet Hot's. Never had an issue with them and they pretty much slipped right ine. Don't get the pacesetters, they suck. My friend's car was the test car for the LT's on the LT1. Nothing but problems. And very poor customer service and work.

I have the Arizona Speed and Marine headers. They make good power but like said earlier they keep burning up my wires. Happened twice already. I got the big 10.5 taylor wires now with some fireproof sleeves that slip over wires also. I think I may move to the dynatechs or hookers
