Wow! I have not saw one of the F-body hideout videos in a couple of years! I had one of their compalation videos that had some Kid Rock song as the back ground music! Totally bad ass!!

I don't feel it's right to point the finger at Marilyn Manson because he too is doing what EVERY OTHER NO TALENT musician is doing. |

i dont know that i would go that far.. there are several talented bands out there right now...
disturbed
system of the down
God smack
monster magnet
to name a few... i think it really depends on if the fans are there for the music or the image...
goth bands dont have to be talented , they just have to be dark and shocking to the averave suburbanite.
alternitive bands are like the monkeys and hermans hermits of this generation. they need three cords(not even real cords but "power cords") with an up beat catchy hook and a pretty boy front man...
metal, hard rock, and punk bands cant fake it... see your body and ears do not naturally draw you to this kind of music, we demand that bands .
1. rock
2. play real insturments
3. play real cords.
4. have at the very least a decent drummer
5. have lyrics that SAY something... it doesn't matter what you want to scream about, as long as you get your point accross... you wont hear nirvana's mumbo jumbo like teen spirit comming out of my car...
that is not to say there are NO heavy rock bands that dont suck...
just that there are very few FAMOUS heavy rock bands that suck... that is because if they suck, we as fans wont make them famous.....

Agreed. You made a VERY good point. People are not drawn to metal. If it's not GREAT people won't listen to it, or buy the records, therefore, you won't hear about it.
My last post was aimed more at the hip-hop, pop stuff. Not the metal stuff.
